Plano Guide Series Model 787 Angled StowAway® Tackle Storage System

Angled Stowaway

Plano®, the longtime leader in tackle storage solutions, seems to always be ahead of the curve when it comes to introducing new angles for gear organization. For 2011, the company is taking that “angle” terminology to new levels, both technically and literally.

New is the Plano Guide Series Model 787 Angled StowAway® tackle storage system. The roomy 23″L x 12.25″W x 12.25″H tackle box is a hard-body structure that comes with nine StowAway utility boxes … of which the four largest ones are stored at an angle.

The way it works is that the 787 has an integrated storage rack that receives and holds four 3700 Series StowAways individually, each at a 15-degree angle. The StowAways included for use in the rack are three Model 3701s (5-34 adjustable compartments) and one Model 3750 (4-27 adjustable compartments).

That means the popular 3700-size utilities are gravity fed and held securely in place by their own weight. The layout means their front edges are exposed for easy identification as to what’s inside each one, and allows quick access to the utility of choice. The compartment’s cover is a lid that conveniently slides underneath and out of the way when it’s time to fish; it pulls ups and provides positive closure for transportation.

Additionally, the 787 comes with five other StowAways: two each of Model 3601 (4-21 compartments) and Model 3449 (10-20 adjustable compartments), and one Model 3650 (6-21 adjustable compartments).

There are compartments at each side of the 787, with DuraView™ doors, housing the 3600 footprint StowAways. An integrated expandable compartment in the back provides even more storage space.

The two top access storage areas have DuraView™ lenses for a clear view of what’s inside.

The 787, in graphite and stone, is an attractive addition to the scenery, whether fishing from a boat or the bank. The box’s oversized handle provides a comfortable grip for easy carrying.
