Larry Conn

Larry is the father of four children, Larry III who is 13, Tracy 10, Henry 7, and Zoey 5. He is also married for 18 years to a beautiful woman named Tracy. She is truly my best friend, fan, and sponsor in this tournament fishing game. I have been fishing full time now for almost fifteen years. I have fished the pro side of walleye tournaments since fishing the P.W.T. back in 1997. I also sit on Mayor Daley’s Fishing Advisory Board to stay involved with all things fishing related in the Chicago area. Hold a Master Captains License with a 100 Ton rating as well as a Merchant Seamans License with a grade “A” endorsement. It is also possible that I am one of the longest running Plano Pro-staff since I have been with Plano about 14 years. I have been a Fishing instructor for the City of Chicago the past seven years, where we fish with park district kids between the ages 6 – 14 years of age. We average fishing with about 12,500 children per year many of which catch their very first fish ever with us. It is personally a very rewarding job for me, plus just how many union fishermen do you know?

Captain Jeffri Durrance

Captain Jeffri Durrance is a fourth generation Florida native growing up in Bowling Green, Florida. Raised on a cattle and citrus operation, Jeffri fished many creeks and lakes in the central Florida area as well as the Peace River as a youth. Each year the family would spend some time on the coastal areas from Anna Maria Island down to Sanibel Island, which gave Jeffri a taste of saltwater fishing that would later become a regular part of his life. Upon graduation from college he moved to Sarasota, Florida and has been there ever since with fishing becoming a full time job. Earning his captains license in 1985 Jeffri’s love of tarpon fishing off Sarasota’s beaches became a business. Each year since the late 80’s Jeffri has presented a tarpon program to many clubs and organizations in the Sarasota area and he continues to promote the tarpon fishery and tournament here in Sarasota.

He also fishes competitively on the Southern Kingfish Association circuit for king mackerel and has had success on Team Top Down. Retiring from the school district in June of 2009, Jeffri is currently running a full time fishing charter business on his 23ft Sea Craft open fishing boat. If in the area give him a call for a fishing trip!

Greg Karch

I own and operate WalleyeX Guide Service located in Oshkosh on the great Lake Winnebago System. Not only am I Licensed Guide, I’m a licensed United States Coast Guard Captain to ensure safety for all clients. In 2005 I became a member of the National Professional Anglers Association. My membership number is 138. I have fished the Lake Winnebago System for over 20 years and specialize in walleye, white bass and perch fishing.

Besides guiding, I host Youth Fishing Clinics to teach youths about the environment, different techniques for fishing and boat safety. I also fish tournaments. In 2007 I finished in 8th place in the FLW Walleye League event on Green Bay. I weighed just short of 24 pounds on three fish. See picture in the photo gallery. I have been in articles in the newspaper and appeared many times in the Wisconsin Sportman magazine.

This year I appeared many times in the Wisconsin Sportsman magazine where I spook about the fishery, presentations and locations to fish. I also appeared in the Sunday newspaper a couple of times. One article was Lake Winnebago Walleye and the other was “Yellow Fever” (Perch lovers are in heaven on Lake Winnebago).

When guiding I start out the open water fishing season by hitting the Wolf River on the Lake Winnebago System or Fox River in Depere for the spring walleye run. The walleye run begins in the middle of March. Walleye fishing in the upper lakes of the Lake Winnebago System gets hot after the walleye return from the spawning run. In April and May excellent white bass fishing follows, this is a great time to get a kids started in fishing. Walleye fishing continues to be good from
spring-time and into the summer months. Lake Winnebago has some of the best perch fishing in the state, starting in middle July through September.

This past year I have started to spend more time ice fishing the Lake Winnebago system. I have had some successful trips.
