Favorite method for tournament fishing: " Any method that catches walleye. I really don't have any hang-ups with any one type of method... I like them all. Whatever it takes to catch fish that day. But I am partial to long line trolling Rapala's at night along rip-rap dropoffs or breaklines using 20lb Fireline with a 7'10" Berkley Trolling Rods with Abu Garcia Level Wind Reels."

Mark's Bio...
Capt. Mark Martin is the 1990 Professional Walleye Trail WORLD CHAMPION. Mark won the first, Tournament of Champions held at International Falls, Minnesota netting him $30,000.00, the highest cash prize in history for a walleye tournament, at that time. In addition to that, Mark has qualified for 18 Professional Walleye Trail World Championship's to date. He is the only person to qualify for every P.W.T. Championship and fish every P.W.T. Tournament, achieving over 38 “top ten” finishes in his pro-walleye career and has fished in every P.W.T Championship except for 1. As of 2001, Mark was awarded Normark/Rapala “Angler Of The Year” and was the winner of the Chamberlain, S.D. P.W.T. event, he holds the position of eight-place all-time money winner on the Walleye Trail. Today Mark, as fishing promoter travels extensively throughout the U.S. and Canada doing tournaments, TV Shows, Outdoor Writer Events, Seminars, and teaching walleye wisdom - especially leading kids fishing clinics.
Mark is constantly working on perfecting established techniques and developing new ways to catch walleye. He also works at finding new and interesting spots to bring the media walleye fishing so as better to educate and inform the country’s walleye fishing public.
In his home state of Michigan he’s been called “Mr. Walleye at Night”, averaging more than 600 walleye per season in the 6 to 12 pound range. The key to Mark’s success is a history of walleye fishing developed over three generations of Martins.
His guests have included outdoor writers and editors from many local, regional, and national magazines, newspapers, T.V. and tabloid. His knowledge frequently appears in: In-Fisherman's Walleye Insider, Outdoor Life, Midwest Outdoors, Michigan Woods and Waters, Fishing Facts, and many other periodicals.
Also has authored and self published two books, one titled “Over 250 Walleye Tips”, that’s turned into a best seller among walleye enthusiasts, and the latest titled, “Year Round Walleye/Fishing The Four Seasons”, also has one night video that has been a best seller.
He‘s been seen on many national and regional T.V. Shows, teaching his walleye wisdom, and showing us the great places to catch walleye.
