Event Description: KOINONIA GUIDE SERVICE FISHING REPORT 9/27/08

Hi Gang,

The fishing continues to improve. At the beginning of the week we had a 3.2 river stage with 5,700CF and at the end of the week we had 4.1 with 8,100 CF of flow and 65 degrees. This low water has congregated the fish and has made fishing more consistent.

The water color was primarily clear this week.

1. Trip #1 – Guide Fun Trip out of Goldsboro. This was a Tuesday PM Trip and they boated 40+ Bass and the largest was 18.50”. They also boated 20 + Walleye and the larges was 19”. The fish came on, YUM Craw Pappi’s, Hard Jerkbaits and Top Water. We had 68 degree water at 3.1 – 4,900CF – Clear and Steady.

2. Trip #2 – Guide Trip out of Ft. Hunter. This was a Friday PM Trip and we had two boats. The average was 28 Bass with the largest being 18”. They also boated two Walleye and the largest was 13” Walleye. The river was at 3.0 with 4,800 CF and 65 degrees. They were all caught on YUM and Cabin Creek soft plastics, Top Water, and Hard Jerkbaits.

3. Trip #3 – Guide Trip out of Ft. Hunter. This was a Saturday Full Day Trip and we had two boats. The average was 24 Bass and we also caught two Walleye and five Fall Fish. The largest Bass was 18.25” and the largest Walleye was 15”. We caught fish on Top Water, Hard Jerkbaits, Grubs and Craw Pappi’s. The river was 3.1 with 4,800 CF – Steady – Clear and 65 degrees.

4. Trip #4 – Guide Trip out of Goldsboro. This was a two boat Full Day Trip. The average was 24 Bass and 4 Walleye. The big bass was 19.25” – 3.75# and the largest Walleye was 13”. The guys also boated a 36” Musky. The river was at 3.4, clear and 65 degrees. They caught fish on Spinnerbaits, Hard Jerkbaits and soft plastics.

5. The Smallmouth fishing continues to improve and should stay good as long as the water stays at the current level. Some of the fish are close to their wintering holes and if the water stays low they may be here all the way thru winter.

6. Almost every outing is landing a Walleye. We will start Guiding for them when we get a good school located.

5. Our big Smallmouth of the week was 19.25” and our largest Walleye was 19”.

6. Without a doubt, soft plastics are still our best bait. However, we did catch fish on Top Water and Hard Jerkbaits and Spinnerbaits.

7. The tournament out of Goldsboro was won with a bag of 5 fish that weighed in at just over 20#. This is over a 4# average. We are truly blessed to live so close to the Susquehanna River.

HAVE A GREAT WEEK AND LUV THE TUG………REB
