Richard Cameron from
ONTARIO, Canada
Richard was raised in Northeastern Ontario fishing the waters around Kirkland Lake and Kapuskasing with his dad. That is where his love for fishing and the outdoors was born. His career as a professional forester has taken him all across Northwestern Ontario, Manitoba, Saskatchewan and northern Minnesota. At present Richard owns Terra Nova Forestry Consultants Inc. and resides in Red Lake, Ontario, the gateway to a vast water system and a variety of exceptional fishing opportunities.
Richard loves to compete and has been doing so since 1987. He has participated in the KBI (Kenora Bass International) for ten years and placed seven of those years. In the past ten years at the Gary Roach Pro Am he has won and placed in the top ten five times on a regular basis. Richard won the walleye division at the Camp Confidence Fundraising Tournament in the second year he participated. Other tournaments include The Red Lake Fall Classic for seven years as well as other tournaments in Dryden and Minaki. In 2005 Richard and his wife Tammy placed top Lund mixed team in the Red Lake Fall Classic.
Richard is active on the Red Lake Fall Classic organizing committee and has contributed a great deal especially in promoting the Kid's Tournament and Family Fishing. He participates in Lund's Angler Young Angler tournament with his stepdaughter Toni, placing 5'h and 6'h in the last 2 years. When he is not fishing tournaments, Richard devotes a great deal of time working with local anglers and retailers making dealer calls and raising the awareness of sponsors products and services. He spends a lot of lime working with local marinas promoting fishing products with one on one fishing trips on how to use many of the sponsor products, including boats and motors, fish locators, and different types of fishing techniques. He provides guiding services, all inclusive trips, for special community events and charity organizations.
